What kind of resume should i make?

Many employers now require a resume for both skilled and semi- skilled positions. In fact, some Metro Manila factories require a resume already. There are three general types of resumes that you ca make based on job requirements:

1. The chronological Resume- This describes your work experience in reverse chronological order. This is the most commonly- used type of resume today and the one that’s most familiar to job recruiters. Why? Employers can very quickly and clearly see what an applicant has done, where and when.

2. The Skills/ Functional Resume– This describes your experiences, skills and achievements instead of the different kinds of jobs you previously had, or basically a summary of functions you performed. You can use this when your work history is varied, when making a radical career change, or when your actual work experience in the job you desire is limited and might be noted by the employer.

3. The Combination Resume- This is -you guessed it- a combination of both the chronological and skills/functional types of resumes. It not only shows your employment history but also gives the employer a clear idea of your skills and achievements. In fact, many job recruiters actually favor this type of resume.

Balancing Spirituality & Success

Tips for Spiritual Success

1. Minimize materialistic thoughts-  Materialistic thoughts are the kind if thoughts that only deal with self-centered perceptions like pride, power, fame, dominion, etc. Most materialistic inclinations are actually based on a lack of faith. If you feel superior to others, you forget that people have feelings that can be easily hurt. Are the facts on which you base your attitude correct? Try to shift your attitude to a more positive one.

2. Generate peaceful, serene thoughts- Think about your emotions and feelings and how they can create a peaceful mood. It  should help you learn which situations provoke a negative or positive reaction. Regularly spend time each day in quite moments where you can ponder on your life’s mission as outlined in your personal mission statement.

3. Create a spiritual image- A spiritual image is a picture of the person you can be without the trappings of a material life. Try imagining being happy without things that you think can make you happy, like a new car or house. By exploring and developing your spiritual representations you can feel much better about yourself and life.

4. Face reality with faith- Are you frightened of life’s challenges, such as getting scared of being abandoned by friends, losing your job, or dying in an accident? The answer is to face the fear, imagining what you would do and how you would cope if these things happened. Once you’ve faced up to your worst fear, you will be able to look beyond it and you’ll be more able to cope.

5. Live for a higher purpose-We all need to eat, earn money, provide for our children, but we also need to remember that our chief goal in life is happiness. Success, as we recall, is made up of feelings, happy feelings. If our ultimate purpose is happiness, then we won’t fall into the trap of just living for the sake of living.

6. Find a spiritual role model- These are people who you look up to with the kind of attributes you truly idealize. It could be a religious leader, a saintly figure, a revered statesman, or even a kind family member or relative.

7. Think of your world as a battle between good and evil-No matter what pundits and popular writers tell you, evil exists and there is no such thing as being “right in your own eyes”. If there is such a thing as goodness, then there has to be an opposite. Your life is meant to help raise that standard of goodness to a higher degree, with the corollary goal of helping others gain more goodness, too.

8. Realize that your presence or influence will outlast your life- Death is a reality we will all face. But whether you believe in the immortality of the soul or not, your presence or influence will still be left long after you are gone. Now, what do you want others to feel as a way of remembering you?

9. Emphasize rejoicing in life than surviving in life- Research suggest that the more meaning you see in life, the easier you will find it to be positive. This doesn’t necessarily mean being very religious, but it does mean having a sense that there is a plan, a point, a purpose to life. Spend time thinking about why you are here in this world, and then let that sense of purpose guide you.

How you define success

Success is a relative term. It means different things to different people. A lot of people automatically conjure images of a fat bank account, a big house, or a flashy car when they think of success. Well, that’s one aspect of success. But total success is much, much more. Some people also think of success as having a good family life, a happy home, a feeling of contentment or ease, or to be always in love.

But what do all these have in common? They include feelings. These feelings include happiness, joy, love, peace of mind, self-respect, greatness, freedom from worry, anxiety, fear and failure- in short, positive feelings.

Being successful means not just being able to achieve fulfillment ox excellence in your goals but also having the kind of feelings. The very root of success is the positive feelings that come with accomplishment and achievement.
